All applicants for a (class D) basic New Jersey drivers license permit must pass the written driver exam. The driving permit test is a 50 question test and you need to score 80% or better to pass the examination. The test covers traffic laws, rules and regulations and safe driving practices. The state of New Jersey recommends that drivers spend time studying driver ed materials that will be covered on the permit test. This is not an easy test. Most people who take the driver exam for the first time fail it. The reason that they don't pass is that they are not prepared correctly and or did not take the time to study the driver ed materials that are available. Many people assume that because they are good driver that they will naturally pass the DMV written permit test. That unfortunately is not the case.
Come prepared by spending time studying as many practice driver ed questions as you can here on our site. We have over 1000 driving questions and traffic scenarios to help you sharpen your skills. You will be a safer driver and you won't have to worry about wasting another day at the Department of Motor Vehicles!
