When applying for the first time for a (class C) basic drivers license permit in North Carolina you will need to pass a written driver test at the DMV. The written driving permit test is comprised of two parts. The first part is a traffic signs test where you will need to identify specific signs as well as sign shapes and colors. The second part of the driver permit examination is a road rules test that tests your knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving techniques. New residents moving to North Carolina have 60 days after becoming a resident to apply for a North Carolina drivers license permit and are also required to take a written driver test, a vision test, and a driving skills test (if deemed necessary). This test is not meant to be a difficult test, but many people fail it the first time because they thought it was going to be easier than it was. A driver ed course like ours is recommended before you go into to take the test. Don't think that just because you are a safe driver that the test will come easy to you. You must have the specific knowledge or you may not pass the exam.
Use our database of over 1000 driver ed and traffic safety questions and you will be on your way to acing the exam the first time around. We give you the correct answer and the rationale so you understand and can study from our drivers test. Not just told an answer is wrong.
