Anyone applying for a Vermont Drivers licence must take the written permit test. You must also take the test if you have an expired license or have an expired out of state license. This includes those applying for a driver permit who have moved here from another country. The Vermont written permit test is 20 questions long and you must answer 16 correct or more to pass. If you do not pass the driver test you must wait until the next day to take the test again. The test covers road signs, Vermont traffic laws, and safe driving practices. The format of the exam is multiple choice questions just like we have on this site.
